50 years in the heart of Montreal
Complexe Desjardins is located in Montreal’s downtown core, in the centre of the Quartier des Spectacles. It’s one of the city’s largest and busiest mixed-use buildings. Three office towers and a shopping mall surround a large public square and an eye-catching fountain. A wide variety of stores and restaurants fill its commercial zone, offering a full range of products and services. Its one-of-a-kind design is filled with natural light, vast spaces and stunning architectural details. There’s no other space quite like it.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Complexe Desjardins in 2026, we’re asking artists to submit their proposals for an original work of art that pays tribute to this iconic Montreal space. It will be hung for public viewing.
Professional artists and collectives, as well as art industry organizations and firms, can submit their projects before March 24, 2025. To be eligible, applicants must be considered a professional artist under the Act respecting the professional status of artists in the visual arts, film, the recording arts, literature, arts and crafts and the performing arts.
